Nields Crossing 13th and Bainbridge Streets
by Bern (10/19/2000)
to the tune of "Jeremy Newborn Street"

13th & Bainbridge Sts.
That is the place I'll get to meet
A medical assistance governmental geek
13th & Bainbridge Sts.
I look down at my feet and grab my cane
I'm where I should be but the bus wouldn't stop for me.

So what can I say? It's a beuatiful day.
This time I can't run away On account of my leg
I really don't mind I've got plenty of company here at the bus stop
You know it's not like me to be on welfare
But something changed when I got bit by a bear
So here I stand listening to the cars beep it's my favorite sound
At 13th & Bainbridge Sts..
[sorry, "tick" didn't rhyme!]

Check the clock tower
I've been waiting for hours and I know
They're gonna send me home
Cause I forgot my S. S. card
But I not really bothered
Because it turns out that my mother, a little confused,
has been drinking a helluva lot more than me!

So what can I say? It's a beautiful day
This time I can't run away and hide in a bar
I really don't mind though I've had plenty of friends get on my case so far
They know it's just like me to be where I haven't planned,
even my slacker boyfriend's joining a band
So here I stand waiting for the bus that will set me free:
