Nields Crossing I Need A Summer
(A Teacher's Lament)
by Shannon (4/10/2001)
to the tune of "I Need A Doctor"

I decided that it was time for me to try my hand at this parody thing.....it's not fabulous, but it's true. Hope you enjoy...
I used to be smart,
now I'm dumb.
I used to feel things,
now I'm almost numb.
I used to be sweet,
and friendly,
But I've been fought with too long, so long, so long

I used to wear smiles,
now only frowns.
I used to move fast,
now I've slowed down.
I used to think they'd cha-a-ange, they'd start to care.
But I'm the one, I'm the one
pulling out all my hair.

I wear a faded name badge on my chest
so they can tell me from the rest....

I need the summer, o-oh, I need the summer.

Have to talk to parents,
about their youths,
I have to tell lies,
wish I could tell the truth
Thought I was a teacher, ohhhhhh, but I was wrong
I just babysit hoodlums all day lo-ong

I take my happy-pills from my analyst
to ward off excess stress....

I need the summer, yeah, I need the summer.

I was cool, now I'm a b***h,
I was Ms. Awesome, now I'm that Spanish-teachin' witch...

ayyyyyyeeeeeee-yeah, ayyyyyeeeeeeee-yeah.....
